Sipapu Ski Lodge, New Mexico
This was my
I'm giving up motorcycling, it's too dangerous
phase. And to prove it, I'll buy
a Jeep and organize an event with all my biker friends.
Okay - So, I got an ST1300 shortly after this trip.
Once it's in your blood, it's there to stay...
Day 1 - DFW to Sipapu Ski Lodge in New Mexico
I followed Craig on his 954RR, sometomes you could see him

And, sometimes you couldn't

We hit a ton of rain between Texas and New Mexico but once the sun came out, it was a great day. We made it to the campground and setup our tents.

This was a great little campground.

Day 2 - Touring New Mexico
I woke up and was going for my morning phone call
when I hear a bike approaching, I think to myself who could it be but in the back of my mind I only know of one person that would ride in the rain, and dark, and cold from Houston to New Mexico. Sure enough, Rick appears.

He sets up his tent and begins to tell the tale of his ride. His Sat radio stopped working because it was raining so hard. He's also shivering, becase he's soaked to the bone.
He decides, since everyone is getting up and getting ready for the day's ride, that maybe he'll ride in the Jeep with me. Since he rode all night long, he ended up sleeping most of the morning.

A little route planning....

... and we were on our way ...

Day 3 - Touring New Mexico
Rick decided to ride this day, one of our stops was the Rio Grande Gorge.

One advantage of being in the Jeep was following a Houston cop on a Valkyrie passing on a double yellow.. LOL

Then, it was back to the campground..

for a great sunset..

.. and campfire.
